So long as there are men, women and children who are psychologically terrorised 24 hours a day  in prison or by the prospect of being sent to one, so long as there are people who are terrified they’re going to be turned out onto the streets with nothing at all, each of us has got work to do: whether your working in a charity seeing people face to face everyday who walk into our surgeries or our projects with their faces as if the ground beneath them has been taken away; whether it’s the teacher making daily calls and lone journeys to Dungavel to reassure a 10 year old child who used to be in her class; whether its offering a space to someone to sleep for a night or two, whether its organising a meeting to oppose evictions or the detention of innocents...

1. Add your support - Make a stand and show your support, add your name and/or organisation to the growing list of those who are outraged that children and families are locked up 22 hours a day in the equivalent of a category b prison. contact us See a list of current supporters here.

2. Give money to the Dungavel Bail Fund which will assist in providing bail for families detained inside Dungavel as well as provide hardship funds to those made absolutely destitute. give money now

3. Offer a bail address: if you would like to help someone get released from Dungavel, you can offer a bail address at your accommodation. offer a bail address now.

4. Offer a bed space to a destitute refugee: Refugees whose appeals are unsuccessful have their money and accommodation taken away. This is leading to people being made absolutely destitute with no recourse to public funds, i.e. all they are entitled to is a bowl of soup and a blanket. offer a bed space now.
